Power Point
September 2nd, 2009 by Dave

Why is there a section on PowerPoint here? Simply because many of our presentations will have originated as PowerPoints. If you know how to turn these into pictures, then the first (and biggest) step in making movies from them is complete.

Using Powerpoint slides to create a movie is a simple ‘conversion’ task: turn the slides into pictures:

  1. Open the powerpoint you’ve created (here is a sample you can try this on)
  2. Choose the ‘save as’ option
  3. Choose EITHER
    1. JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg) if there are photographs and the like
    2. GIF Graphics Interchange Format (*.gif) if there are not many photographs
  4. NOTES:
    1. Slides will be saved as image files to a destination of your choosing
    2. Images will appear exactly as they are in the Powerpoint editing windows
    3. NO SPECIAL EFFECTS from Powerpoint will remain; you can add these later in Movie Maker
  5. Continue with Photo Story or Movie Maker to create movies…
